| This is a truly excellent example of an original 1961, 315 HP Fuel Injected Corvette Roadster (numbers matching) equipped with collectible options, offered at the asking price of $130K. Vehicle originally acquired while living in California in 1975 as the third registered owner. The vehicle was driven every day to work for 2-years, and then stored until beginning its restoration in 1990, completing a total “frame-up” restoration in 1996. Approximately 2,600 miles have been logged on the odometer since completing its restoration. This vehicle is not a “trailer queen”, and is extremely road worthy, clean, and has been well cared for. Factory Options & Equipment: • Body color: “Ermine White”, Body coves: “Sateen Silver”, Black Interior. • 2-Tops (Hardtop & Soft-top) • 283 cubic inch engine with 315 hp Fuel Injection High Performance option, with Solid Lifters. • Borg-Warner T-10, 4-Speed Manual Transmission. • Positraction Rear Axle, 3:70 Ratio • Wonderbar Signal Seeking AM Radio & Heater. In 1961, total production for the Corvette was 10,939 units. According to GM records, of the total units produced, only 385 Corvettes were produced with the two-tone combination of "Ermine White" with "Sateen Silver" coves. Black interior was the standard for 1961, however, according to records only 32 % of the total production was ordered with black interior. The most popular interior color was "Red". GM records also indicate that only 13.5 % of the total production was equipped with the 315 HP Fuel-injection options. Based on these production figures as stated, there was probably not less than 20 and no more than 60 Corvettes produced, and equipped with these color & equipment options in the 1961 model year.
